The symbol of Italian Renaissance, Ferrara enjoyed a glorious cultural and artistic past. The fascination of its ancient walls, architecture and elegant aristocratic residences attracts tourists from all over the world. Some of the most important fiftenteenth-century buildings host important institutions, such as the prestigious University of Ferrara or contemporary art pavilions.
Who decides to spend a holiday in Ferrara will have the opportunity to enjoy its well-preserved old town. Tourist itineraries range from historic-artistic ones to naturalistic excursions across the Natural Park of the Po Delta and from boat excursions along the rivers Po di Primaro and Po di Volano to cycle excursions across Ferrara and its neighbourhoods.

Ancient ceramic workshops where it is possible to discover the ancient technique which developed at the Court of the Estensi family during Renaissance and which is still used to manufacture ceramics bearing XVth-century colours and pictures.
Exhibitions of modern art organized in the enchanting Palazzo dei Diamanti (Diamond Palace). Temporary exhibitions dedicated to the greatest artists in the world which attract tourists from nearly everywhere.
Ferrara Buskers Festival, the amazing event based on music and street artists which takes place at the end of August and attracts visitors and artists from all over the world.
The concerts of "Ferrara in jazz", the outstanding event dedicated to international jazz music which takes place every Friday and Saturday from October to April in the fascinating scenery of Torrione San Giovanni, the Renaissance bulwark of the city walls.
